Winter's Beauty...

The trees on our property were beautiful this morning.  There was no wind and there was a thin layer of ice on all of the trees.  Absolutely beautiful....something all  who migrate to warmer weather for winter won't get to enjoy!!!  Nature can produce some beautiful sights.  We all just need to take the time to enjoy!

With the wonderful blog post Bailey did, I should have her do it all the time!!!  I'm glad that I have in writing that she loves her job and is not not going any where because I don't know quite what I would do without her!!!  For starters....I'd have way too many projects started.  She keeps me on track and disciplined (and, believe me, that's a tough job in itself).  She is also better at all the social media aspects of the business and keeps everyone up to date on what is happening in the shoppe.

I had the most enjoyable afternoon last Thursday.  Mabel, my soon to be 4 year old Granddaughter, told her mother that she "missed her Grandma" and wanted to come out to decorate cookies.  So, I made roll-out sugar cookies that morning and she came and helped frost and decorate them that afternoon.  We had such a good time decorating cookies for her older sister, Addie's, 11th birthday party!!  Plus....she does sprinkles "the Grandma way"!  The more the better, and there's no such thing as too many.  Of course, I did have to vacuum the rug after she went home.

All 7 grandchildren are now sporting new winter caps.....and those that requested matching scarves have those also!   It was great to see the excited looks on their faces when I delivered each of them.  I love that they ask their "Grandma Lou" to make them special things.

Most of my handmade Christmas presents are done.  It's been so much fun to make items for each of them instead of just going out and purchasing something.  And to know that they love whatever I do for them....makes it priceless.  They are all at that age now that they think Grandma can create whatever they want, or can mend anything.  Wonder how long that will last.

We saw the last of our sales reps this morning!  While I love seeing them and all the new yarns that are going to be available each season...it is extremely difficult to choose.  Hopefully, Bailey and I have made great choices and there will be new wonderful fibers and colors to inspire you starting in January!!!  Of course, this also means that we will be doing some "cleaning"...so be sure to check out our clearance "corner" the next time you are in!
