Out with the old....In with the new!

December 31....should be snowing, yet it is currently raining.  Something is not quite right here in southern Wisconsin.

I am spending part of the last day of the year doing some well needed cleaning/organizing in the loft area of the shoppe.   I am in the midst of sorting through fabric (yes I sew and quilt also).  I am attempting to de-stash my stash!  Some of the fabric could probably be classified as vintage.  It's hard but I am determined to "let go" of some of what I have been hanging onto for way too many years.  I will admit that I am making a pile that hopefully will be transformed into doll clothes for the granddaughters throughout the year.  Yea, big plans are in the works for 2019....we'll see how I do.

I probably won't get to the yarn stash......fabric plus yarn cleansing is way too much to attempt in one day!!!  I will, however, go through my list of finished projects for 2018 and share my accomplishments.  That will probably happen in the next few days.  I also always make a list of what projects I have "in progress" at the end of a year and am carrying over to the next.  The first year I did that I had over 35.  It was quite an eye-opener.  I don't think it will be quite that bad this year.....although there are a couple projects on that list that have been carried over for way too many years.  Perhaps that should be my "yarn resolution" for 2019.....to finish the "carry overs".

So, here's to a fantastic 2019!  Peace, harmony, good health, great family times, great times with friends.....and many adventures in yarn!!!

  • Happy New Year Doreen and Bailey. Now that I’m getting back to myself one of my goal is to knit right handed. See you in 2019

  • Just, knitting and sitting. Today was so gloomy, I took a nap. No walks for Dunkie tonight.

  • Happy New Year to you, your family and to Bailey, and her family. I thought about destashing but decided that was too much work. I’ll have to knit harder to finish the projects bought at your shop in 2017 and 2018.
