Decision Made!!

I am so excited to get started on this KAL!  Since I usually make multi-colored shawls and will be doing the test knitting on a different multi-colored shawl (yarn comes tomorrow!), I have decided to do a solid color shawl this time....it's actually a tonal, but that's pretty "plain" for me.  I also decided to do the smaller size for my first one.  I am planning on making 2 shawls from this pattern during the KAL time frame...one for display in the shoppe and one for a gift.

At any rate, the yarn for this shawl is a new one from Araucania that will be arriving this fall.  It is part of the Huasco Sock collection which is 75% superwash merino wool and 25% polymaide.  This yarn is kettle-dyed and the colors are absolutely beautiful.  My sales rep left me this skein to "play with" before the other colors all arrive.

You can't really see how the pattern is showing up yet, but my hope is to be able to work on it today!!  I will post another photo after I have a couple more repeats done.  But, so far, I am absolutely loving it!!!  The pattern is well written (wouldn't expect anything different from Ambah) and should be an "easy on the brain" design to knit up.

Stay tune for more!!!!
