                                                    JANUARY - APRIL 2012 CLASSES

 

 

Pattern Reading/Technique---Know the basics of knitting but want more help in reading patterns?  Learn new techniques and be inspired as we introduce  a new pattern stitch each month.  Make the square in class, more during month if you like it!  Combine squares to make a pillow/lap robe/afghan either for yourself, a gift, or charity.  4 sessions---Monday, February 20, March, 5, 19 April 2   9:30-11:30 a.m.  $40--includes patterns

 

"Marker" Knit Socks--Using double point needles and stitch markers,  make socks to fit any foot!!.  One pair and you will be hooked!!!  Must be comfortable working with double pointed needles.   3 sessions   Monday, January 9, 23 & February 6  9:30-11:30 a.m.    $30--includes pattern.

 

Toe-Up Knit Socks--Now that you know the basics of sock knitting, lets learn the advantages of making them from the toe-up!!!  3 sessions  Friday, March 30, April 13 & 27  9:30-11:30 a.m.   $30--includes pattern.

 

Two-Handed/Two-Color Knitting--Fair Isle knitting is a breeze once you learn to knit with both hands.  No more tangled yarns!!  Not a class for beginners!  You will also learn to read a chart for color knitting!  2 sessions  Friday, January  27 & February 3  1:30-3:30 p.m..    $25--includes pattern.

 

Beginning Knitting---Starting with the basics.  Very individualized attention.  4 sessions  Wednesday , January 11, 18, 25 & February 1  9:30-11:30 a.m.   $50---includes instruction booklet.

 

Beginning Crocheting---We will start with the basic chain and progress from there.  Small class allows for very individualized help.  4 sessions   Monday, March 12, 19 26 & April  2  1:30-3:30 p.m.  $50--includes instruction booklet.

 

Infinity Knit Scarf---Learn the "secret cast on" to make this stylish scarf.  Once you master that, the options for the scarf are virtually endless!!  1 session  Wednesday, March 14  9:00-12:00 noon  OR Sunday, March 18  1:00-4:00 p.m.   $15--includes instructions.

 

Sweater Help--You pick the pattern and we will help you along the way!!  This class is great for those who want to make their first sweater, want to try something slightly more challenging…or for those who just want the companionship and inspiration from others. 5 sessions  Wednesday, February 15, 29,  March 7, 21 & April 4  9:30-11:30 a.m.  $50

 

Cables, Cables, Everywhere---Learn various cables, how they affect your gauge and how to add them into a basic knit pattern.  1 session  Sunday, February 12  1:00-4:00 p.m.  $15.00--includes instructions.

 

Gauge and Yarn Selection--Learn the importance of  swatching, and how to adjust to get the right one; how to select the proper yarn for your projects.  1 session   Sunday, March 11  1:00-4:00 p.m.   $15.00--includes handouts.

 

Skacel Knit-Along---Join us as we continue on with the Skacel knit-along each week.  Pre-registration is not required for this group but you must be knitting on the monthly project/yarn.  Monday afternoons from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. beginning on January 9 - March 5 (no class on February 27).  Read elsewhere in newsletter for further information.

 

Open Knitting/Crocheting---Join us on Wednesday afternoons, 1:00 - 3:30p.m.  Very informal, work on your own project.  Simple questions/problems solved.  Get inspired:  $1/hour.  No pre-registration required.
