Were not out of the woods just yet...

Wow!  I can't believe it's been since the 29th of March that I last posted.....I guess that says a lot about what has been happening in my life.  We finally got the call and made the trip to Mayo Clinic last week.  Gordon started out with just an appointment for a CT scan and a consultation with the Cardio Surgeon.  It was all to take place on one-day and then we would head back.  Well.....after the Surgeon took a look at his scan, phone calls were made and more appointments followed.  We finally got to head home on Friday.  What a week.  He is now tentatively scheduled for surgery the week of June 17.  It is going to be a very long wait and way too much thinking time for both of us between now and then.

It will be a long, complicated surgery, but all of the Doctors involved in the process are quite confident they can help him and after some recovery, he will finally be able to get back to living a normal life again.  Without the surgery, he will have huge restrictions on his lifestyle forever.

I am planning on being in Rochester with him during this time and Bailey will be holding down the Shoppe.  I am leaving things in quite capable hands.....without her, the doors would have to be locked.  She has been a godsend!!  I have no idea how long he will be in the hospital, nor how long his recovery time will be or even where that will take place.  It will be a day at a time process.

Bailey and I have been compiling lots of smaller, "no-brainer" type projects for me to take along to help keep me occupied, focused, and calm.  My knitting/crocheting has always been my refuge and what I turn to when my soul needs to be soothed.  The next few months may prove to be a real test for it!!!

I appreciate everyone's good thoughts, prayers and well wishes.  It is great to have so many people supporting Gordon and I as we go through this rough patch.  Thank you everyone for your understanding and, if takes a little longer than usual for me to get back to you about something, you now will know why.

On a positive note, we will have LOTS of new samples/displays at the Shoppe! We have already met with 2 yarn reps and have some exciting, new yarns coming this fall! We also just placed a big order for Malabrigo Yarn, mainly fill in colors BUT there are also 3 new colors of 'Arroyo DK' and some one of a kind colors of 'Sock' that will be available! (Keep an eye out on our Facebook page, as Bailey will post pictures of them all when they arrive!)

(We will be CLOSED Monday, May 27th 2019 for Memorial Day)
